Issue/Introduction

Can you renew a CA Top Secret generated certificated signed by a 3rd Party Certificate Authority?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Resolution

CA Top Secret can only renew if the signing certificate with the public and private key is on the security file. The third party signers will NOT give you their Certificate Authority with a private key because you can sign certificate with their Certificate Authority. So..you will have to send your certificate to the 3rd party Certificate Authority to get renewed.
