Firewall setup for CA SMP/E Internet Service Retrieval.

What IP addresses and ports does Broadcom SMP/E Internet Service Retrieval for servers eapi.broadcom.com and rdownloads.broadcom.com and Broadcom FTP for server supportftp.broadcom.com use?

Resolution

Broadcom SMP/E Internet Service Retrieval uses the following URL/IP address

EAPI.BROADCOM.COM (141.202.0.16) Port number 443

RDOWNLOADS.BROADCOM.COM (141.202.253.110) Port number 443

You can ping the URL or IP address(s). If an IP address for the eapi.broadcom.com or rdownloads.broadcom.com server is not returned, verify that your Name server setup and Resolver configuration file are proper. For Trace Resolver debug facility details, see "Diagnosing resolver problems" in the z/OS Communications Server: IP Diagnosis Guide.

All communications with the server are performed using the HTTPS port of 443. For details see section 'Options that Affect HTTPS Operations'.

SMP/E uses HTTPS to communicate with the CA Automated Order Server. SMP/E also uses HTTPS to download package files containing PTFs and HOLDDATA from the CA Download server to your local z/OS system. For details see section 'Options that Affect Download Operations'.
