Mixed Case Password Support with OM Web Viewer 12.1

Issue/Introduction

What is required to be able to use 'mixed case' passwords for the mainframe logon?  At what build was 'mixed case' password support added?  Any recent updates on Passphrase support with OM Web Viewer 12.1?

• DRAS
• View®
• Dispatch™

 

Resolution

Mixed case support requires:

• Web Viewer SO08117 cumulative build 198.  If you are lower than that build, apply the latest build. See Additional information.
• A supported release of View®, OR
• If you are running release 11.7 of Dispatch™, you will need to have apars SO15814 and RO37853 applied.  If you are running release 11.6 of Dispatch™, you will need to have apar RO26703 applied. And you will need to refer to the instructions provided on PDC RI37796.
• The installed security package must also support it. It is most likely this support is already in place, since it was introduced in the 2006-2007 timeframe.

  While there is no setting for mixed case passwords in OM Web Viewer, there is a parameter that must to be set if Passphrases are in use.
