#Added by CA as Vertica recommends this setting

vm.max_map_count = 510965

#Added by CA as Vertica recommends this setting

vm.min_free_kbytes = 11437

Environment

Release : All

Component : IM Reporting / Admin / Configuration

Cause

dr_validate.sh checks /proc file system for confirming data repository system requirement is satisfied or not, then adds some parameters in /etc/sysctl.conf if the system requirement is not satisfied.

If re-executing dr_validate.sh before the added parameters are inflected in the system, duplicate parameters will be added in /etc/sysctl.conf.

Resolution

The duplicate parameters will not interfere with the data repository. However,  user can delete the old parameters in /etc/sysctl.conf manually.
