Do I need to deactivate CA1 before the whole system is shut down?

Does a user need to deactivate or shut down CA1 before a system is shut down?

The CA1 system does not necessarily need to be gracefully shut down before a system is shut down, but the more important action is to quiesce all tape activity *before* CA1 is shut down or the system is brought down, whichever occurs first.  No tape activity should be occurring after CA1 is inactivated (regardless of how CA1 is inactivated).
