Issue/Introduction

We received the message OPM9998O Dynamic exit install detected that OMVS is initialized.  Would you please provide more information around this message?  The OPSMVS Event Management and Automation manual doesn't explain what exactly has been initialized. Only the following information:

Action: None. This message is used for debugging and analysis purposes"

Would you please provide more information around this message? OPS9998T Dynamic exit install detected that OMVS is initialized. The manual doesn't explain what exactly has been initialized. Does this exit need to be initialized before any USSCMD are issued?

Environment

OPS/MVS Event Management and Automation, All Releases

Resolution

The OPS9998T message is usually reserved for debugging type WTO's. In this particular instance, it indicates that whatever dynamic exit that OPS/MVS is installing, that you requested via parameters, had to wait for OMVS before it could complete that installation. The most likely dynamic exit/s for OMVS are the USSPROCBegin and End USS events that OPS/MVS detects and produces.

However, since this exit installation process needs OMVS to be up, the debug message can also indicate that OMVS is up. There is a more appropriate z/OS message that indicates the status of OMVS. The OPS/MVS USS dynamic exits do not need to be in place to issue the USSCMD, but there are other requirements before the USSCMD can be used.

Additional Information

It is recommend to Not automate any OPS/MVS WTO's that end in a 'T' suffix.

OPS9998T or OPS9998I changed to OPS9998O or OPM9998O due to a subsystem of M.
