Memory and disk space requirements for 2E

Issue/Introduction

Installing the 2E product to IBM I Series (AS/400) machine.  In review of the 2E documentation did not find any information on minimum memory and disk space requirements.  Does this information exist and what are the requirements?

The Ca 2E product has never documented the amount of memory or disk space needed for an installation of 2E. 

Regarding disk space, the requirement for all of 2E 8.7+ is an estimated 600 MB.  This would include the 2E product software, the 2E toolkit and data objects, and the generators (RPG or Cobol).  If you are also installing the configuration management tool, Implementer, that software disk space requirement is an estimated 400 MB. 

In terms of memory requirements, suggestions have been made that 2E works best with 2 MB of memory for each activity level within a subsystems that the programmer/developer resides.  Another "rule of thumb" for memory is that a 2E programmer/developer uses twice as much resources as a normal RPG programmer. 

Regarding 2E user models, there is no practical limit on the size of models, as these are user dependent.
