How to Enable Provisioning Server Simple Logging (etaYYYYMMDD.log) - Identity Manager

Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions for enabling the Provisioning Server simple log, referred to as the etaYYYYMMDD.log. By default, this log file is disabled. Following the steps below allows administrators to activate this logging feature for troubleshooting purposes.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Resolution

To enable the etaYYYYMMDD.log file, follow these steps:

1. Open the Provisioning Manager.
2. Click the [System] icon.
3. On the left pane, click the [Global Properties] button.
4. In the right pane, click the [Logging] tab.
5. Check the "Enabled" box.
6. Locate the "Text file" section and check its corresponding "Enabled" box.
7. Click [Apply] to save the changes.

Note: Ensure sufficient disk space is available, as enabling verbose logging may consume significant storage over time.
