Issue/Introduction

I see the probe is detecting alarms, but none of them are being published to alarm console.

How can we correct this issue?

Environment

Any SQL or Oracle probe

Cause

the oracle probe and SQLServer probe both have an option to not generate alarms

Oracle probe:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/ca-unified-infrastructure-management-probes/GA/monitoring/bigdata-databases-and-storage/oracle-oracle-database-monitoring/oracle-oracle-database-monitoring-release-notes.html

Generate status only: specifies the probe to only generate status and not to issue an alarm when a threshold is breached.

SQLServer probe:

Suppress All Alarm: subdue all the alarms, such as checkpoint alarms, profile alarms, SQL timeout alarms, and startup clear alarms. Select this check box to disable the Generate status only field.

Generate status only: generate status and not an alarm when the threshold is breached. Select the Status tab to see the status for the different checkpoints.

Resolution

There is an option in the general tab that will suppress all alarms.

If you are not getting any alarms sent to the primary hub this is probably the cause.

Please make sure the following is not set:

Generate status only: specifies the probe to only generate status and not to issue an alarm when a threshold is breached
