Issue/Introduction

The client ran SARPAC, but there is one tape that will not expire even though it shows to have no active reports.

How can they have the tape expire?

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : CA View

Resolution

Tapes that do not expire in CA View can do so for a couple of reasons:

. View will retain a tape a minimum of 5 days.

So, if a tape is recent, even if it shows 0 active reports, it could still exist as it has not yet met the 5-day minimum retention.

. If a run of SARPAC shows a tape with a comment of "INDEX ONLY", that means that View is holding onto the tape only for the reason that the SARINIT NGENI setting is saying to.

With that, it is recommended to have an NGENI parameter setting to NGENI=3.

Note: If a parameter change is made, please recycle the related SARSTC task.
