What components does CA WA DE “In-place upgrade” upgrade?

Release : 12.2

Component : CA WORKLOAD AUTOMATION DE (DSERIES)

Resolution

The in-place upgrades the binaries on DE side. It also adds some tables depending on the version. The upgrade process will be able to update database as long as database user in <install_dir>/conf/db.properties has full access to the database.

Additional Information

Note: For MS-SQL and Windows authentication, the user that starts DE service will also connect to SQL database.  This user must have full access to the database.  

The user must be able to add/delete new tables, synonyms, indexes and views.  If the initial used at the time of DE installation was changed, then either login as the old user to perform upgrade or grant new windows user full access on the SQL database.

Always back up installation directory and database before performing any upgrade.
