Issue/Introduction

After the silent install of patch "XCLX86_XCOMPATCH_r11618090_64.bin" from APAR SO05627 the xcom version returned using command "xcomd -r" does not change.

Environment

XCOM™ Data Transport® for Linux PC 11.6

Cause

After checking the status of the silent installation using the command "echo $?" it returned a value of 114 instead of 0.

Per the readme file XCUNIX_r116_SP01_18090_Patch_readme.htm a return code of 114 indicates "The installation failed because of insufficient Disk Space."

Resolution

The XCOM install directory /opt/CA/XCOM had been allocated with its own filesystem and there was only approximately 300MB of free space available compared to the 900MB requirement documented in the readme file XCUNIX_r116_SP01_18090_Patch_readme.htm

After increasing the size of the filesystem the patch installation was successful with status of 0.
