TPX - Session Management Vman Session Management for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Our TPX menu contains more than 100 applications, and only two digits of session numbers are displayed in our menu.

For example the 1st application in my menu has session number 01, second application has 02 etc..

Also, the 100th application in my menu has session number 00, 101st application has session number 01 and so on. When I enter 01 on the menu only the 1st application is selected.

I would need your help to setup 3 digits to be displayed on the menu, so that the users will have unique session numbers on their menu to select any application.

Environment

Release : 5.4

Component : CA-TPX for OS/390

Resolution

Provided you are using the TPXUCMND exit as it works with a numerical value entered in the command line of the menu, then the exit is capable of dealing with 3 digit numbers.

The TEN0041 or the TEN0010 panel would need to be changed

From:

 )MODEL

   _Z:z :uentuser;

To:

 )MODEL

   _Z:z  :uentuser;

Reload the panel via TPXOPER

example:

RELOAD PANEL=TEN0041

Then sign off and back on.
