You are receiving a LDM0528I or LDM0528E "FILE SERVER NOT AVAILABLE - TRY AGAIN LATER" error attempting to perform a function in or against CA Bundl. The function could either be an online function such as a logon. Or, one of the many BATCH functions that get performed against the CA Bundl VSAM files.
The CA LSERV started task is the STC that executes PGM=LDMMAIN. This task controls all I/O into and out of the CA Bundl VSAM files.
What causes these LDM0528I or LDM0528E "FILE SERVER NOT AVAILABLE - TRY AGAIN LATER" messages and how can they be prevented?
These errors can be received when you try and perform a function in or against CA Bundl but, the CA LSERV task that services the CA Bundl VSAM files is either not active. Or, if it is active, is otherwise having some type of problem that is preventing it from accessing or opening one or more of the CA Bundl VSAM files.
The typical resolution to receiving this message when attempting to perform a function in or against CA Bundl is to either START or RECYCLE the CA LSERV STC so that the CA Bundl VSAM files are reattached (Indicated by the "LDM0503I-DPMFxxxx successfully added" message received during startup) and access to the CA Bundl files is made available again.
If you are running CA LSERV in a HOST/REMOTE environment, make sure you are STARTING and/or RECYCLING all of the appropriate and relevant CA LSERV started tasks.
If you have confirmed that the CA LSERV task is active and that all CA Bundl files have been successfully added but, you are still receiving the error, check the SSN$ and DDN$ value specifications associated to the CA Bundl function you are trying to perform and make any necessary corrections. The value for the SSN$ specification MUST match the 4 character active CA LSERV tasks SSNAME=nnnn value. And the value for the DDN$ specification must match the 4 character prefix of the CA Bundl VSAM files you are trying to access.
L-SERV is a CA Common Services provided component.
Documentation for the "LDM" prefixed messages that are are issued by the CA LSERV task can be found in your Common Services Message Reference guide in the section entitled "LDM (CA-L-Serv component) Messages"
