Which CVs need to be shut down when refreshing the SVC with CAIRIM?

Issue/Introduction

When refreshing the SVC with CAIRIM, there must be no batch-CV jobs running and any CVs using that SVC have to be shut down.

Which CVs need to be shut down when refreshing the SVC with CAIRIM?

Environment

CA IDMS - any supported releases.

Resolution

Only the CVs on that LPAR that are using the SVC being refreshed need to be shut down.

 

In a sysplex environment, this does not apply to CVs running on other LPARs that are connected to CVs which directly use the SVC being refreshed.
