Environment

OPS/MVS,  All releases

Resolution

This problem is usually caused by having the OSF servers started under the Master subsystem (SUB=MSTR) but not having set the parameter OSFGETJOBID to YES. This is a documented requirement of the OPSUBMIT function.

Usage Notes:

To use the OPSUBMIT function in a SUB-MSTR OSF environment, the CA OPS/MVS OSFGETJOBID parameter must be set to YES.

If this parameter is already set to YES another possible cause is that the JESCHAR parameter does not have the correct JES2 command character.

It defaults to "$" but may have been defined differently on the JES2 parameters.
