Issue/Introduction

After double-clicking the sqlserver probe to open the Configure GUI from Infrastructure Manager, the GUI fails to open and the "Error executing command:" error dialogue message is displayed instead:

Environment

Component : UIM - INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER any version

Cause

Multiple reasons for this error, but typically due to a corrupted GUI binary in the %TEMP%\util directory for the user attempting to open the probe's Configure GUI.

Resolution

Make sure that there is available space on the C:\ drive where Infrastructure Manager (IM) is running.  When configuring probes from IM, it downloads the probe's configure GUI binary from the probe's package in the hub archive and installs the GUI in the %TEMP%\util directory for the user logged into the Windows server.  If there is not enough space for the binary, this may corrupt the installed configure GUI file.

If there is enough space on the C:\ drive, then its possible that one or more of the configure GUI binary files already installed in the %TEMP%\util directory may be corrupted.  In that case, log out of IM, delete the contents of the %TEMP%\util directory, log back into IM, then try opening the probe's Configure GUI again.  This will result in a new set of probe Configure GUI binaries being pulled from the probe's package in the hub archive and installed in the %TEMP%\util directory.
