Copy model across Gen Host Encyclopedias(HE) on different LPARs

Issue/Introduction

Is there an easy way to copy selected models from one Gen Host Encyclopedia (HE) to another Gen Host Encyclopedia (HE)?
The 2 HEs are on different LPARs/DB2 Subsystems.

Resolution

There isn't an easy way to copy select/individual models from one HE to another HE across DB2 Subsystems. 

The Host Encyclopedia panel option Copy Model Across Encyclopedias assumes both Encyclopedias are within the same DB2 Subsystem.

Other options would be to: 

• Do an unload and load of the database but that would copy the complete database i.e. all models.
  
  
• Perform a Download Model with the 'Upload' option set to Yes.
  • The resulting IEF.TRAN file can be transferred direct using binary format to the 2nd LPAR if direct file transfer is possible e.g. ftp. Alternatively download the file using binary format to the PC as an update.trn file and then upload the update.trn using binary format to the 2nd LPAR.
  • Then use Upload Model on the 2nd HE to load the model.
