Issue/Introduction

In our environment we are continuously getting alerts on checkpoint alloc_space - query timed out”

Please advise how we can stop it

Or how can we only receive alerts when the alarm count is above 15?

Environment

UIM any version

Resolution

To stop the alert either deactivate the checkpoint in the probe or have your dba resolve the issue that is causing the alarm.

It is essential in UIM to understand what you are monitoring and only alarm on those metrics that are important to you.

If you wish to suppress the alarms with counts less than 15 you can configure an auto-operator in the nas to achieve this.

  • Open the nas config in IM
  • Select the Auto-Operator tab

  • Create a new rule with action type close
  • Define the matching criteria to select the alarm in question
  • Define the message counter greater than or equal 15

Additional Information

This procedure also can be followed to clear all matching messages. In that case, instead of "On overdue age" - choose the "On message arrival" for the "Action Mode".
