Issue/Introduction

When changing the project finish date to an earlier date, it reverts back to the original date after saving. This is reproducible with any user, even those having full administrator rights.

What could be the reason for this?

Environment

Release : All PPM Releases

Component : CA PPM PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Resolution

The possible reasons for this are:

- there is a task date going out past the target finish date for the project.

- there is a team member with an explicit allocation finish date going past the target project finish date. This may include inactive resources that may not show on the team list depending on the team list filter.

The explicit team and task dates all need to be updated to have the same finish date as the target project finish date (or an earlier date) before the system will allow the earlier project date to be saved.

Note: If the team members allocation finish date is being inherited from the project finish date and they do not have their own explicit allocation finish date, these allocation dates do not need to be manually updated. They will update once the project finish date is updated successfully.
