Removing Actuals from Timesheet entered in error

Issue/Introduction

One of our users accidentally submitted a time sheet for a project and we are now unable to modify the project's Start Date. The project number generated is already known within our organization; submitting a new project would be disruptive. Is there a way to fully delete the hours from this project's record so that we can appropriately update a Start Date?

Resolution

The date that you posted the timesheet hours for, even if it was later zeroed out is going to be permanently associated to the assignment on that task from now on. That assignment start date will prevent the task start date from moving, which like you have noticed keep the project start from moving to a later date as well. There's no supported way to have the assignment, task and project ignore that date and allow a later start date.
