Issue/Introduction

I have noticed that the Time Origin field show permanently "Jan 01 1970 02:00:00" for alarms synced from spectrum to UIM.

Is this expected?

Environment

Spectrum 10.3.2 and

UIM 8.51 SP1

UIM 9.x

Component : UIM - SPECTRUMGTW

Cause

The reason why the Infrastructure Manager is showing unix epoch time is because the time_origin field in the NAS_ALARMS tables is empty.

Resolution

To avoid this confusion USM must be used for spectrum alarm into UIM.

The time_origin field does not affect USM alarm views - which is the UIM supported and recommended alarm console for production operations.

Infrastructure Manager Alarms console is not supported for this purpose.

(The IM client will only catch transient Spectrum alarms as it listens on the hub queue. If they refresh or force a reload from NAS the Spectrum alarms will disappear from the IM client.)
