Easytrieve Report Generator

Issue/Introduction

What are the FMIDs for the CA-Easytrieve release 6.4 0311?  What are the FMIDs  for the CA-Easytrieve release 11.6?  Can both co-exist in the same CSI environment?

Environment

CA Easytrieve Report Generator, releases 6.4 0311 and 11.6

Resolution

If the CSI is known, then the best way is to do an SMP/e listing against that CSI to determine which sysmods have been applied and installed.

The FMIDs for CA Easytrieve 6.4 0311 are:

FMID and the corresponding Component

C$A6400 Runtime

C$A6401 Runtime Host Server

CF06400 SQL

CG16400 IMS

CG26400 IDMS Interface

CG26401 IDMS Interface (Rel 10)

CI36400 CA-Datacom/DB

CI56400 DBCS

CI66400 Compiler

The first two are for the Runtime option when executing CA Easytrieve programs. CF06400 is for the SQL option. Likewise, CG16400 is for the IMS option if that option has been purchased.  There are two FMIDs for the IDMS option:  CG26400 for IDMS with any version other than release 10; otherwise for IDMS version 10,  CG26401 is needed. For the Datacom/DB option, CI36400 is the correct FMID. For DBCS option, CI56400 is needed. and... definitely CI66400 is to compile any CA Easytrieve program, regardless of which options exist.

The FMIDs for release 11.6 are:

CBAAB60 /* CA Easytrieve Runtime */

CCL2B60 /* CA Easytrieve/Plus Compatibility Library */

CA03B60 /* CA Easytrieve Compiler */

This information is documented in the EZT3RECD member of release 11.6 SAMPJCL library.  The SAMPJCL library is created during a non-CSM installation of the product.

The recommendation is to place the installation of the two different releases into separate CSIs.

Additional Information

Regarding CA Easytrieve coming with the CA Common Services product, with Common Services 14.0 and prior releases, this is true. It was offered as an option for those who are not fully licensed for the CA Easytrieve product. FMID CDX8E00 is the fmid for the Easytrieve component which would have been installed under release 14.0 of Common Services. Therefore, if the full product of CA Easytrieve is licensed, this FMID is absolutely not needed and should be removed. CDX8E00 is only needed if you do not have the full product and have CCS 14.0. Now, with Common Services 14.1 and 15.0, the CA Easytrieve is a separate installation just as if you had the license for the full product. (see the FMIDs above for release 11.6).
