The client received, in their View SARSTC task, the following SARDBI03 message: SARDBI03 INDEX FILE BLOCK AT A RANGE
Release : 14.0
Component : CA View
A SARDBI03 condition means that there is a problem with the index.
From a review of past cases with a SARDBI03 problem, the majority of those cases, to success, recommended the following:
. Shut all tasks down that affect the database (SARSTC, SARXMS, SAREAS, including any CA Deliver tasks that do direct-writing to that database.
. Run a SARDBASE VERIFY.
. Note: The length of time required to run a VERIFY will depend on factors such as the size of the database index, I/O response time on the affected volumes, the priority of the VERIFY job submitted, etc.
. At the conclusion of the VERIFY run, try restarting the problem task first.
. If it starts successfully, then all is well.
. If there is no successful restart:
. . Run a SARDBASE REORG ASYNCH.
. . At the conclusion of the REORG run, try restarting the problem task first.
In this instance, a run of SARDBASE VERIFY was enough to reset the database pointers, to allow the SARSTC task to start with no errors.
