How do I update Tomcat from JasperReport?

Issue/Introduction

After a search for vulnerabilities in our systems, by our information security team, it was pointed out that JasperReport 6.4.3 is running on Tomcat 8.0.44. How do I update Tomcat from JasperReport?

Environment

Release : 14.1

Component : JASPERSOFT REPORTS FOR SERVICE MANAGEMENT

Resolution

There is no procedure to upgrade Tomcat in an already installed environment.

What you can do is, install a new Tomcat server and then install JasperReport on this server, done this can export and import the repository from the old instance to the new one.

Install Tomcat 8.5.43 on the new server

Install Jasper 6.4.3 on the new server
