Migration of files from filestore to database fails with Could not locate directory in file store.

Issue/Introduction

I’m trying to move my files from filestore to the database and getting an error message on every file:

 

8/2/19 9:34 AM (admin) FileId:VersionId:FileName|5001814:5001815:Test_File_v1.docx NOT moved

8/2/19 9:34 AM (admin) Error msg=Could not locate directory in file store.

 

We are running the command ‘admin search migrate’, what is causing the issue.

   

Resolution

Ensure the filestore directory is outside of the Clarity directory. For this case it was in $clarity/bin, which caused a problem with admin search migrate command.

 

1. Move the filestore outside of Clarity directory

2. Go to CSA, enter the new filestore and searchindex

3. Save

4. Restart services

5. Follow the procedure to run admin search migrate as per the documentation
