The integration between Identity Manager (IM) and Oracle Siebel requires specific client-side components to establish a stable connection. The connector utilizes the Siebel COM Data Control object to interface with the Siebel server. This connection relies on specific library files (e.g., sstchca.dll - SiebelDataControl.SiebelDataControl.1) that are only provided through the installation of the Siebel client software.

Resolution

To ensure connectivity between Identity Manager and the Oracle Siebel Endpoint, the following installation and configuration steps must be completed:

• Install Siebel Client: Manually install either the Siebel Mobile Web Client or the Siebel Dedicated Web Client on the machine where the C++ Connector Server is running.
  • Note: The client installation can occur before or after the CA Identity Manager installation.
• Version Alignment: The version of the Siebel Web Client must match the version of the managed Siebel Server.
• Object Manager Verification: Confirm that the Siebel Application Object Manager is active and running on the target Siebel Server.
• Permissions: The Siebel user (or proxy user) utilized by the connector must be assigned the "Siebel Administrator" responsibility.
