Issue/Introduction

Can DevTest support Oracle 18C (12.2.0.2)?  

Environment

All supported DevTest releases.

Resolution

Refer to section "Database Requirements" in the documentation of the DevTest release you are running.

Unless a specific release is mentioned in the documentation, then all releases within a version is supported.

NOTE: DevTest officially supports Oracle 12C Release 2 ( which is 12.2.0.1) but it should work fine with 12.2.0.2 but it is not certified.

Oracle 18C and 12C version information:

Oracle Database 18c is the first version of the product to follow a yearly release pattern. From here onwards the Oracle Database will be released every year along with quarterly updates. Dietrich’s blog. If you’re confused as to why we’ve apparently skipped 6 releases of Oracle it may be simpler to regard “Oracle Database 18c” as “Oracle Database 12c Release 2 12.2.0.2”, where we’ve simply changed the naming to reflect the year in which the product is released.
