When e2e_appmon is installed Windows 7 and Windows 10 clients automatically LOGOFF!

Issue/Introduction

• Currently, when you (accidentally or incorrectly) install this e2e_Appmon probe on a user workstation (or important server) to develop a script it causes the workstation (or server) to become unusable because it continuously logs the active user off of the system.
• E2E Appmon installation causes a forced logoff within 5 minutes of login.

Environment

• Release: 9.1.0 or higher
• Component: UNIFIED INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT
• e2e_appmon probe, any version
• Any Windows workstation, desktop, or laptop, e.g., Windows 10

Cause

Resolution

• The e2e_appmon probe requires a session to the workstation/robot where it is installed.

• This will log off the user if they are currently connected as it takes over the desktop (console)

• For e2e_appmon (Nimrecorder) - a dedicated robot/workstation is REQUIRED.

• It is also recommended to use a remote viewing tool like RealVNC, to monitor the scripts on the workstation for the purposes of developing and debugging those scripts.
