The idea manager (auto) right is granted to the idea creator if the manager field is not on the idea creation page

Issue/Introduction

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

 

1. Go to studio > Idea object > Views > Idea Create layout 
2. Make sure the Manager field is added to the create layout 
3. Create an idea and leave the manager field blank 
4. Check the instance rights of the user who created the idea. 
5. The Idea - Manager (Auto) right has not been granted to the user 
6. Go to studio and remove the Manager field from the creation page 
7. Create an idea as the same user 
8. On the edit page you can see the Manager field is blank 
9. Check the instance rights of the user who created the idea. 

 

Expected Results: The Idea - Manager (Auto) right has not been granted to the user

Actual Results: The Idea - Manager (Auto) right has been granted to the user

Cause

This has been analysed by Engineering through CLRT-81077

Resolution

1. Make sure the Manager field is visible on the idea creation page

OR

2. Add yourself as manager and then set someone else or blank it out. You must set yourself as a manager first in order to remove the right afterwards
