CA Identity Manager CA Identity Governance CA Identity Portal CA Identity Suite

Issue/Introduction

Windows Active Directory allows administrators to "Assign Static IP Addresses" via the "Dial-In" tab of a users Properties, however the option to set this attribute within the CA Identity Manager (IM) Default Account Template is missing!  Is there a way to set the Static IP Address within IM?

Environment

Release : 14.x

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Cause

Working as designed.

Resolution

The Dial-In static IP Address is not included in the Default Active Directory account template as it is not a supported option.

Microsoft places some values for some subsystems, such as Terminal Services and RAS, into attributes that are often difficult to find and read. In the case of the static addresses, they are put into 'msRADIUSFramedIPAddress'. But they are not stored as just a plain text IP address.

For example :

10.0.1.69 translates to 167772485

To get this functionality to work through IM would require some intermediary process which converts the standard IP4 notation into the recognized MS format.
