Issue/Introduction

The Default Loading Pattern set under Administration - Project Management - Settings is being ignored when creating a new task. For example, the Default Loading Pattern set here is Uniform, but the tasks are getting created with a Fixed Loading Pattern.

Environment

Release : All PPM Releases

Component : CA PPM STUDIO

Resolution

This is due to there being a Default set on the Loading Pattern attribute under Administration - Objects - Assignment object - Attributes tab. In this example, the default set here would be Fixed, so the newly created tasks would take this default opposed to the Uniform Default Loading Pattern set under the Project Management Settings.

In order to get the tasks to get created with the Default Loading Pattern set under the Project Management Settings, the Default on the Loading Pattern attribute needs to either be cleared out or set to match the Default Loading Pattern under the Project Management Settings.

Note: Making this change to the Default on the Loading Pattern attribute would only apply to newly created assignments from then on. Any previously created assignments would remain with the same loading pattern that they had previously.
