snmptd v3 traps not processed nor any logging indicating why they failed to process

Issue/Introduction

Why when sending a v3 trap to a Linux robot running the snmptd probe nothing is recorded in the snmptd.log regardless of log level, and the trap is never processed?

Resolution

This can happen if there is a problem with the passwords used for authentication/privacy or a mismatch with the EngineID. Double check the passwords, and also try setting the EngineID in the Security Properties > User Properties > User > EngineID to *.

Apply any changes needed and restart the probe.
