Issue/Introduction

When trying to use dcdebug, there are two IP domains to choose from the drop-down which appear to be the same.

If connected to a Data Collector,  the same devices are found in both choices.

If not connected to a data collector, IP Domain/IP based choices leave the buttons greyed out.

Environment

Release : 3.7

Component : IM Reporting / Admin / Configuration

Cause

There are two IP Domains in different Tenants in CA Performance Management with the same name.

Dcdebug uses the name of the IP domain and cannot distinguish betwwen the two.

Resolution

If you do not need one of the domains it can be deleted, below is the effect of deleting an IP domain:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/performance-management/3-6/building/ip-domains.html

"Delete an IP Domain

When you delete an IP domain, all monitored items in that IP domain are deleted, including historical data. The items are also deleted from registered data sources that use IP domains, such as CA Network Flow Analysis, CA Application Delivery Analysis, and CA Unified Communications Monitor. CA Spectrum devices in the IP domain are removed from CA Performance Management, but CA Spectrum continues to monitor the devices.

When you delete an IP domain, associated Data Collectors and discovery profiles become inactive. Assign another IP domain to continue polling or discovery.

If you want to retain any associated data, do not delete an IP domain. You cannot recover deleted data."

You'd want to verify if you see any devices from any data sources under the ip domain before doing so as this delete all items and historical data under that ip domain from CAPM and any data sources.
