Issue/Introduction
Received message "XCOMU0403E Cannot open output file: No such file or directory" when trying to transfer a file.
Environment
XCOM™ Data Transport® for UNIX/Linux PC
Cause
Security, the userid used for the transfer didn't have proper permissions.
The mounted NAS directory path may have permission restrictions preventing XCOM from accessing the mount.
Resolution
User changed permissions on the NAS where the files were being delivered. Corrected the permissions and all is working.
On a Linux system in which SELinux is enabled, you will want to make sure that the mount path has the proper SELinux context assigned to it in order to successfully access the mounted file systems and transfer files.
Additional Information
On Linux you can review the system logs for any error messages related to access or permissions:
Please review the /var/log/messages and /var/log/audit.log files for access errors. You can search for "xcomtcp" in the log for any access errors.
Issue command "sestatus" to verify if SELinux is enabled on the system. If enabled, you may want to review the policies you may have defined
Go to the root directory of the path and issue command "ls -lZ" to help understand the context of that directory.
Involve your Linux admin in order to review the policies on your system.
