Whenever a CA Ideal program runs or encounters an error, it will create an OUTPUT file in the PSS ADROUT spool area.
Sometimes it may be important to know when that OUTPUT spool file was created especially if an error was encountered.
Unfortunately, when you display the OUTPUT file itself, it does not show you the create date and time.
For example, from IDLX or IPCV issue the DIS OUT number command:
Release : All
Component :
CA IDEAL
CA IPC
D OUT ALL STATUS shows the date/time.
So, instead, issue the following command in order to see an index of all of the PSS spool files while looking for the desired member name and spool number.
For example:
Here you can see the creation date and time of the spool file. A “D” to the left will enable you to Display the specific spool file output as shown above.
Note: As you scroll down this index listing, if there are a lot of files the screen may end with:
ALL OUTPUT FILES EXCEED DISPLAY MAXIMUM. CHECK HERE TO CONTINUE
In this case, simply tab to the right of the word CONTINUE, place an “X” there and hit enter.
