Gen model reports (html files) do not display in a browser

Issue/Introduction

Using Gen 8.6 Toolset to create any type of report.
As expected the report displays successfully in the Toolset.



However if go to the model report directory i.e. model.iefeport\xml and open the .html file directly with a browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox) nothing is displayed.

If enable Developer Mode in the browser see this message on line 11:
Uncaught ReferenceError: xslTarget is not defined

Resolution

Not being able to open Gen Toolset reports externally in a browser is a current known limitation and is in the backlog to be investigated by Gen Engineering at some future date.

Workarounds:

1. View the report in the Toolset.
   
   
2. If the Microsoft Edge browser is installed then a workaround is to use Edge in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) for the report .html file.
   This feature can be enabled using edge://settings/defaultBrowser
   Enable "Allow" and add the relevant report .html file name e.g.
