Issue/Introduction

If dataset permissions are setup with PRIVPGM access for PRIVPGM(AUTREADY,AUTPGM) and an administrator owns these programs, will this have any effect on how the dataset check occurs and hits the DSN permit with the PRIVPGM listed?

Resolution

The ownership of the program would not affect how the dataset check is processed, however, if the program is owned, the user needs to be permitted to the program before that program can be used to access the dataset. In other words, if the user is denied access to the program, they will not get to the point where the dataset check will be issued.
