Issue/Introduction

We have the following definition:

hlq.CASPOOL.D2E.HFS (zfs file which contains directories for reports/input/output/queue) defined as

ALLOCATION
  SPACE-TYPE------CYLINDER
  SPACE-PRI------------150
  SPACE-SEC-------------50

Seems like its too small…..

I have deleted all files in the above directories, modified the retain keyword to 30 (minutes) and recycled both tomcat and the transformer started tasks.

Any rough guidelines around sizing…..would be very helpful

Resolution

Spool SE advises: There is no meaningful file zFS size guidance. It will depend on how many users are active and how many unique reports each is viewing and how large the input files are and how many pages have graphics on them and so on and so on. There are too many variables to list. Also, you can allocate zFS files so that they will automatically grow. See the AGGRGROW parameter here - https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLTBW_2.3.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r3.ioea700/ioea7mt.htmhttps://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLTBW_2.3.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r3.ioea700/ioea7mt.htm and here - https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLTBW_2.3.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r3.ioea700/prmid1.htm This the default.
