Issue/Introduction

The customer is using NCM SNMP/TFTP to capture configurations on Cisco devices and it appears Spectrum is only capturing half of the configuration.

Environment

Release 10.3.2

Release : 10.2

Component : Spectrum Alarm & Event Management

Cause

This is actaully an issue with the TFTP server. The TFTP server is not finished writing the configuration before we read the ccCopyState on the device and it says it's complete.

Resolution

This is targeted to be resolved in the 10.3.2 BMP. The following parameters can be added to the $SPECROOT/SS/.vnmrc file:

ncm_tftp_wait=2

ncm_startup_wait=2

Restart the SpectroSERVER after making the changes to the .vnmrc file.

This will wait 2 seconds before closing the TFTP transfer to allow the TFTP server more time to write to the file on the SpectroSERVER.

Additional Information

Using a custom script instead of SNMP/TFTP to capture the configurations is a workaround for this issue.
