Output Management Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

What do the number of active threads referenced in an OMLog represent?

Environment

Release : 11.5

Component : CA Output Management Web Viewer

Resolution

The number of active threads in the OMLog represent the number of requests currently executing for users on the system. Each request *normally* takes a very short time, so there can be 20 users working but no active threads running at any given point of time. This, however is different than the available number of threads, which are typically configured for a minimum of 32 and a maximum of 512. When there are problems where requests get delayed while waiting for the last request to complete, or there are SQL failures for Network communication link errors, the number of active threads can increase very quickly.
