Can Java be upgraded on the Spectrum servers?

Resolution

Spectrum installs and utilizes its own embedded version of Java located within the $SPECROOT directory. This embedded environment is independent of the Java version installed on the host operating system.

1. Manage OS-based Java updates as required by your security team.
2. Ensure that any updates or configuration changes do not modify, move, or delete files located within the $SPECROOT directory.
3. Note that the only supported method for upgrading the embedded Java used specifically by Spectrum is to perform a full Spectrum upgrade to a version that includes the newer Java release.
