Issue/Introduction

For some users, specific or all login objects are not visible in the dropdown of the attributes of a job in AWI.

Cause

This behavior is by-design. As listed in the documentation, https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/ALL/components/DOCU/12.2/AWA%20Guides/help.htm#AWA/AdministrationPerspective/obj_user_defining_AEAuth.htm#Folders ,

"A user who has read rights on a folder can also search for that folder. That is, to be able to search for a folder it is necessary to have at least read rights on that folder.

Conversely, if a user with no rights on a folder makes a search for it via the Global Search function, the folder will be displayed on the resulting dropdown list but the user will not be able to open it or access its contents.."

As a result, Login object is not visible in the dropdown of the attributes of a job if a user does not have access to the folder were the Login object is located.

Environment

Release :12.0.X, 12.1.X, 12.2.X

Components: AUTOMATION ENGINE, Automic Web Interface

Resolution

Give users necessary permissions to access the folder where Login object resides.
