How can the password encryption algorithm in use by the Top Secret database be determined?

Release : 16.0

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Resolution

To find the password encryption algorithm in use, issue TSS MODIFY and look for the following option in the

TSS9661I CA Top Secret FEATURES Status:

AES_ENCRYPTION(ACTIVE|INACTIVE,nnn)

If it shows “INACTIVE”, triple DES is the encryption algorithm.

If it shows “ACTIVE,128”, AES 128 bit is the encryption algorithm.

If it shows “ACTIVE,256”, AES 256 bit is the encryption algorithm.
