Resolution

tmp_inv_device table is a temporary table primary existing for showing inventory information within SAM (Software>Software inventory>Installations).

One can empty (not delete!) this table directly on database and recalculate it manually, but it´s also calculated on a nightly basis automatically through the cron job. Make sure to have a database backup in place before truncating tmp_inv_device just in case!

Check first via Exchange>Import monitoring>Import status if there are no imports in progress and/or aborted transactions. If so, delete this transactions (SAM will show you a link to click on in that case).

If you want to recalculate tmp_inv_device manually click on "Refresh Calculation" in Software>Software inventory>installations.

Or via the more advanced way, go to Admin>Mainentance>Rebuild system tables and click on "Rebuild temporary tables".  Please check that no imports are running first, as these will be impacted by the rebuild. Be aware that the rebuild of all temporary tables will be will take some time to complete in the database.
