Issue/Introduction

Approvers logging into Identity Portal cannot see the approval requests they need to approve or reject.

If they are logging into Identity Manager they can see the requests.

This applies to Identity Portal on Virtual Appliance only, with external database.

Cause

This is due to a mismatch between the environment OID in the management console and the Identity Portal database.

This can happen when using external database and reinstalling the Virtual Appliance.

The installation program identifies that there is already an external database schema and is asking whether to use the exiting one or create a new schema.

The assumption is that this could be a reinstall after a disaster recovery.

If you answer yes (leave current schema) with the new installation, the OID does not change in the Identity Portal  to reflect the change in the Identity Manager OID numerator.

Release : 14.2

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Resolution

Open the management console and check what is the environment ID (Home › Environments › identityEnv -- OID).

Make sure the number there is identical to the value in the Identity Portal database, CONNECTOR_PROPS table PROP_NAME of 'caim.server.env_id'

If not identical modify to fit the one in the management console and restart Identity Manager connector in Identity Portal.
