CA Network Flow Analysis (NetQos / NFA)

Issue/Introduction

In order for NFA to get details about routers and interfaces, such as names, descriptions, speed, NFA needs to be able to snmp poll the device.

This document explains which OIDs are used by the NFA Harvester when an SNMP poll is attempted.

Resolution

NFA uses following OIDs for getting the router details:

  • 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1(sysDescr)

  • 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3(sysuptime)
  • 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5(sysname)

NFA uses the following OID's for SNMP polling for interface names, descriptions, and speeds:

  • 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1(ifIndex)
  • 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2(ifDescr)
