Issue/Introduction

We currently have a set of jobs that XCOM from mainframe to server.  Until recently, the jobs started to fail in the XCOM step with the following error:

 

XCOMM1510E System SSL Function gsk_secure_socket_init: RC = 420: Reason = Socket closed by remote partner <partner ip name>   

XCOMM0093E ERROR ACTIVATING SESSION - SESSION NOT ESTABLISHED

 

Usually a rerun of the XCOM step will work.  I am not sure why this is happening as mainframe to mainframe transfers and mainframe to other servers seem to be working without any issue.

Release : 12.0

Component : CA XCOM Data Transport for z/OS

Resolution

Explained that the message is a result of System SSL and of their network. The message indicates "Socket closed by remote partner". They need to review their network. The fact that they can rerun the job again confirms that there is a "glitch" in their network.

10/16/2023 Nancy Lipp replaced partner ip name with generic
