Issue/Introduction

Spectrum VPN Manager Route Statistics subview shows values of zero even though polling is enabled under the "Associated Edge Routers" subview.

Environment

Release : 10.3

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Cause

The route statistics show how many routes have been added to the selected VPN. MPLS VPN Manager calculates these statistics from reading the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesAdded, the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesDeleted, and the mplsVpnVrfPerfCurrNumRoutes attributes from each device on the VPN. These parameters are added together to produce a VPN-wide total.

Reference the "Route Statistics" section of the documentation located at:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/spectrum/10-3/managing-network/mpls-vpn-manager/managing-vpns/the-vpn-manager-model.html

"The route statistics show how many routes have been added to the selected VPN. MPLS VPN Manager calculates these statistics from reading the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesAdded, the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesDeleted, and the mplsVpnVrfPerfCurrNumRoutes parameters from each device on the VPN. These parameters are added together to produce a VPN-wide total."

The most likely root cause is the devices do not have values for the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesAdded, the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesDeleted, and the mplsVpnVrfPerfCurrNumRoutes attributes.

Resolution

Use MIB Tools to check the value of the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesAdded, the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesDeleted, and the mplsVpnVrfPerfCurrNumRoutes attributes for the devices.

Additional Information

The Cisco ASR 9910 device running IOS XR 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 do not populate the mplsVpnVrfPerfTable mib which contain the values for the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesAdded, mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesDeleted, and mplsVpnVrfPerfCurrNumRoutes attributes used by Spectrum to populate the "Route Statistics" subview.

IOS XR 6.5.2 does populate the mplsVpnVrfPerfTable mib which contain the values for the mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesAdded, mplsVpnVrfPerfRoutesDeleted, and mplsVpnVrfPerfCurrNumRoutes attributes used by Spectrum to populate the "Route Statistics" subview.
