'+ Work' in New UX timesheets not working via Rally

Issue/Introduction

+ Work to timesheet in New User Experience (UX) timesheets not working via Agile Central/Rally. You may also see an error message popup briefly: Update failed for time entry

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. In Rally, go to Clarity PPM New UX Timesheets
  2. Create a timesheet using + Work to timesheet
  3. Select a few tasks and click Add and close

Expected Results: Taken to newly created timesheet that shows the selected tasks added in step 3

Actual Results: Not brought to new timesheet (You may also see an error message popup briefly: Update failed for time entry), however if you use the copy from previous timesheet option to then create the timesheet the previously added tasks used in the STR show up.  

Cause

This may be due to an issue with a slow query in the database

Environment

Release : 15.4.1

Component : CA PPM SAAS TIME MANAGEMENT

Resolution

On Premise customers: 

  1. Have the DBA check for slow running queries on the Clarity side
  2. If any are found, rebuilding the execution plan for any slow running queries can help resolve the performance issue.
